Forgiveness is a powerful and necessary thing to do as a Christian.
The devil knows firsthand because he sees what God has done for us continually
yet he did not experience what we have the privilege of experiencing. God says
he sent His son to die for the world, a people who would praise Him and turn
around and crucify Him, because it was necessary. God says in Psalm 103:12 “as
far as the east is from the west, so far he has removed our transgressions from
us”, because it was necessary. You may say Jesus responded to Peter to forgive 70x7
and you may be good at math and come up with the mathematical answer but Christ
says love covers a multitude of sins (1Peter4:8-9) and love keeps no count of
wrong (1 Corinthians 13:5). Your answer to the following question will help you
get started on the right path of forgiveness. Think about this question and be
honest with yourself. Who does forgiveness benefit, you or for the person who
offended you? You may take it a step further by asking God to help you with
forgiveness and He will by showing you those who you have not forgiven. Many of
us have been taught to pray the model prayer in Matthew 6:9-15 but do you
believe it. God wants to manifest so much but could it be our unforgiveness
that has delayed our manifestations? Mark 11:25 addresses forgiveness clearly. Look
at how awesome God is; as you approach him for manifestation He leads us to the
area of forgiveness. God say you go and forgive those who have done wrong to
you (parent, spouse, child, leader, friend) and God would not tell us to do
something that we cannot do. Look at the urgency God places on forgiveness in
Matthew 5:23-24 “Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and
there remember that your brother or sister has something against you, leave
your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to them; then
come and offer your gift” We should forgive quickly because unforgiveness
hinder us from fully receiving all God has for us. Forgiveness is necessary and
the right thing to do. You don’t have to wait until an apology is offered to
offer forgiveness because forgiveness is a choice you have already committed to
do once an offence has taken place. Hope you will meditate on these scriptures
and allow God to minister to your spirit in the area of forgiveness. Continue
to experience God’s best
